Sadie Frost's Shocking Court Testimony: 'Price on My Head' by Daily Mail Publisher (2026)

A shocking revelation has emerged in the ongoing trial, where actor Sadie Frost bravely shares her story of invasion of privacy and the devastating impact it had on her life. Frost alleges that the publisher of the Daily Mail put a 'price on her head,' targeting her with relentless coverage that exploited her private moments.

But here's where it gets controversial... Frost claims that the newspaper repeatedly accessed her private calls and sensitive personal records, using this information to craft stories about her life. She is one of seven individuals taking legal action against Associated Newspapers Ltd (ANL), with Prince Harry and Elizabeth Hurley among those who have already given evidence.

The other claimants include Doreen Lawrence, mother of Stephen Lawrence, who was tragically murdered in a racist attack, as well as Sir Elton John, David Furnish, and former Liberal Democrat MP Simon Hughes. Frost's distress was palpable as she recounted the impact of these private stories, which spanned over a decade, from 2000 to at least 2010.

She highlights two specific incidents of unlawful information gathering that did not result in published articles, including one related to an ectopic pregnancy in 2003. Frost believes that the information in these articles could not have been sourced legitimately, pointing to 'word-for-word' quotes from her carefully worded voicemails.

"There had been a price put on my head," she said, emphasizing the Daily Mail's interest in her personal life. The claimant's legal team supports this, pointing to an email from the late convicted phone hacker Greg Miskiw, which details a conversation between Frost and her former nanny, including direct quotes and references to a child psychologist.

In a written statement, Frost expresses her horror at the thought of her son being targeted and the cold-blooded nature of the newspaper's interest in her private dispute and her son's medical information. She says, "It was so cruel and horrible; I instructed lawyers. I wanted to find out what else and what exactly had happened."

However, ANL's legal team describes these allegations as 'lurid' and 'preposterous,' claiming little evidence supports the claim that the stories were obtained unlawfully. They argue that the journalists involved used legal means and sources to gather information.

Antony White KC, the lead barrister for ANL, presented Frost with articles quoting her family members, suggesting they had provided information to the media, which in turn encouraged others in her social circle to do the same. But Frost disputes this, saying her mother would not have disclosed truly private information and that her responses were often in reaction to information already released by the press.

When asked about a story regarding her daughter swallowing an ecstasy pill found at a private club, Frost clarified that she had not been discussing this incident with many people. She emphasizes the distress and isolation she felt during this time, stating, "I wasn't going out having tea and cake. I was holed up at home, trying to be a good mum."

The trial continues, with many questions still unanswered. What do you think? Is there a line that the media should not cross when it comes to privacy? Should celebrities expect a certain level of scrutiny, or does everyone deserve the right to keep their personal lives private? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
