A Sault chef, trained in the heart of Spain, is bringing a taste of Madrid back to his hometown with a special culinary event. Nash Hall, a professionally trained chef, will serve a five-course Spanish gourmet menu at OutSpoken Brewing for two nights in mid-January. This is his love letter to Sault, a celebration of the people and flavors that shaped him. Each dish is a testament to his growth, gratitude, and the joy of sharing food. The menu features blistered pepperoncini and garlic sauce, thinly sliced fish, oxtail, octopus, and a Spanish olive oil cake with a Canadian maple twist for dessert. Hall's passion for cooking began at a young age, inspired by his mother's cooking and the love and laughter shared during family dinners. After graduating from high school, he studied psychology but soon realized his true calling in the kitchen. Hall has worked at renowned restaurants like Riviera Ottawa, Harmons Steakhouse, and Fairmont Banff Springs, and further honed his skills at Le Cordon Bleu in Madrid. Being a chef, he says, is more than a job; it's an identity, a creative outlet, and a way to show care and appreciation for people. With a desire to return to Sault one day and perhaps open his own restaurant, Hall's event promises an unforgettable culinary experience, offering a glimpse into his journey and the influences that have shaped his culinary style.
